Micah 7:14-15, 18-20; Psalm 103; Luke 5: 1-3, 11-32
We all could probably re-tell the story of the Prodigal Son and most of us have heard that it is really the father who is prodigal, meaning extravagant, welcoming the son who has wasted everything “on dissolute living.” So let us focus on the elder son to whom the father says: “My child, you are always with me and all that I have is yours.”
Hear God speak directly to you: “My child, you are always with me. All that I have is yours.” And again: “All that I have is yours.” How will you respond to such extravagant love, such abundant generosity?
Take, Lord, receive all that I am and have. You have given all to me. To you I return it. Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me.
