Our 2023 Jubilarian Celebration

On October 14th Our Sisters and Associates gathered at St. Patrick Church in Somerset, MA to celebrate our Jubilarians.  Our day started with a Mass with main celebrant Fr. George Bellenoit, and concelebrants,  Fr.’s Freddie Babiczuk, Jay Maddock,  Edward Correia, John Hanley, OMI, and Msgr. John Perry.  This year’s Jubilarians included Sisters Marilyn Gignac (75 years), Barbara Kirkman (70 years), Helen McPeak (70 years), MaryEllen Ryan (70 years),  Alice Arsenault (65 years), Patricia Griffith (65 years), Margaret McCabe (65 years), and Fran Cavey (60 years).  Our Jubilarian Associates all celebrated 25 years including Joyce Jacobs, Barbara Gerraughty, Marisol Correra, Elizabeth Simo, Raul Vargas, and Miriam Vargas.  As part of our celebration all Jubilarians renewed their vows to Holy Union, and all present prayed for their ongoing vocation.  The Mass featured a beautiful selection of music performed by Adam Turcotte, Dorothy Boisseau, Leonard Epstein, and Sr. Kathee Corrigan, and a moving homily from Sr. Joan Guertin.

After Mass all gathered in the parish hall for a wonderful lunch prepared and served by Deb Griffin, and Chris and Kitty Mendes.  A lovely Jubilarian slide show was shared by Sr. MaryLou Simcoe, and Sr. Helen McPeak led the crowd with a spirited sing-a-long of “oldies but goodies”!  Many thanks to all who had a hand in making this day meaningful, memorable, and fun.  The entire Mass was filmed and can be viewed by clicking this link:  https://youtu.be/XlcgGqXfRZI
