On September 19th, the Holy Union Sisters gathered at Our Lady of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Church in Somerset, MA to celebrate our eight Jubilarians for 2026. We celebrated 75 Years, 70 Years and 60 Years as Holy Union Sisters.

From August 11th through August 14th in Orlando Florida, Holy Union Sisters’ US Leadership Team, Sisters Kathleen Corrigan and Mary Lou Sullivan walked alongside leadership of other congregations in an historic encounter that brought together women and men religious from Canada, the United States, and Latin America for a first of its kind gathering across the Americas.

A recent Supreme Court decision allows the US federal government to move forward on its decision to revoke Temporary Protection Status (TPS) from Haitians and Syrians who are currently living in the United States. They are here legally. This situation calls on us to renew and intensify our support for the Haitians among us in the United States.

In June of 2026, during the Bicentenary Celebration of our congregation, Holy Union Sisters from around the world set off on a pilgrimage to Douai, France and Froyennes, Belgium, where our congregation began. Sisters Alice Michael and Alice Arsenault represented Holy Union’s US Area.

In July of 2026 we were delighted to welcome two members of our Generalate in Rome, Sisters Yvette Sam and Michelle Totman, to the United States Area.

As the Bicentennial Jubilee Pilgrimage was coming to its climax in Froyennes on June 24th, the sisters in the US Area were offered two more local pilgrimage possibilities.

Several Holy Union Sisters, Associates, and Staff joined over 8 million people across the country in the largest protest in US history. 

On March 25, 2026, on The Feast of The Annunciation, we Holy Union Sisters and Associates gathered at St. Mark’s Church in North Attleboro, MA to celebrate Mass and renew our vows in this, our Bicentenary Year!

For several years Holy Union Sisters have traveled to Brighton to participate in the Prayer Vigil, often braving the January wintery weather. This year those who could not be present were able to participate through a Zoom livestream.

A long-time dream became a reality in late August 2025. Responding to the call from Holy Union’s Collegial Assembly in 2023 for new orientations in all stages of formation, the Holy Union US Area created its Bicentennial Project.
