Happy 100th Birthday, Sr. Laurette DeChamplain!
On Saturday, September 24th we were excited to gather at Clifton Rehabilitation Center and Nursing Home to celebrate Sr. Laurette DeChamplain’s 100th birthday! Due to COVID restrictions we were only allowed to have ten Sisters join us for the celebration, but all present had a wonderful day! Sr. Laurette opened presents, told stories and enjoyed some wonderful birthday cake! Many of the Sisters present were students of Sr. Laurette when they were novices, and so the bond between them has remained strong for many decades. Between stories, Sr. Laurette enjoyed a special treat, a lobster roll, which is an absolute classic New England delight. She read birthday cards aloud to an appreciative group of guests. Sr. Laurette, a life-long Boston sports fan, can talk baseball with just about anyone, was delighted to receive a New England Patriots pillow as one of her gifts! Sr. Laurette got more visitors on Sunday, and more coming on Monday still. She has touched many lives, and many are stopping to show their appreciation for her kindness and fun-loving spirit….and of course, to talk baseball!
Sr. Laurette’s cousin, Sr. Adrienne DeChamplain, celebrated her 100th birthday in May of this year! What a remarkable family with an extraordinary gift of longevity.
