The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is celebrated throughout the world on October 4th. In recent years this feast has marked the end of the Season of Creation. Francis’ spirituality is summed up in his Canticle of Creation. It helps us to understand why he has been named the patron saint of ecology. Click on this link to learn more.

Saint Francis and the Season of Creation
The Closing Event of the Season of Creation, an ecumenical prayer led by youth from all over the world, takes place on the Feast of St. Francis, October 4 at 9 a.m. ET. Click on this link https://laudatosimovement.org/event/soc-closing-prayer-service/  to add it to your calendar.

As we conclude the Season of Creation and celebrate St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis will issue his new apostolic exhortation “Laudate Deum” as an update to the encyclical Laudato Si’. At 2 p.m. ET, the Laudato Si Movement will host an online event to discuss the content of the exhortation with scientists, religious and lay people.
