Sr. Pauline Marie DufourSister Pauline Marie Dufour, SUSC (Sr. Joseph Paul) died at the age of ninety-three at Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center, Lawrence, MA. Sr. Pauline Marie and her twin brother Paul were the youngest of Emile and Sylvia (Potvin) Dufour’s nine children. She was born in Lawrence, MA. Her twin brother Paul survives her. Her sisters Germaine, Marie Ange, Fernande, Bernadette, and Lucille and her brothers Hector and Jean pre-deceased her. Many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews survive her.

A graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Lawrence, Sr. Pauline Marie entered the Holy Union Sisters in Fall River, MA on August 15, 1945. She attended Sacred Heart School of Education, Fall River and received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Catholic Teachers College, Providence, RI. As part of her professional education, Sr. Pauline Marie took several courses in math and science.
She taught in elementary schools in Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. She served as secretary and treasurer at the former Sacred Hearts Academy, Fall River. In 1975 she joined the Holy Union Generalate Community in Rome where she was the congregation treasurer for thirteen years. In 1988 she returned to the United States and was the treasurer and bookkeeper at St. Clare High School, Roslindale, MA and administrative assistant to the principal. She later volunteered at St. Clare’s and in the Holy Union Sisters’ Finance Office in Milton, MA. She retired to Mary Immaculate Residence, Lawrence in 2007 and recently moved to the Nursing/ Restorative Center due to ill health.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. William Church, Tewksbury MA. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover, MA. Arrangements were by McGaffigan Funeral Home, Pepperell, MA.
