A Day of Jubilation for Sr. Adrienne deChamplain
Wednesday, September 17th was a day of jubilation for Sister Adrienne deChamplain as she marked the very day of her entrance into our community, eighty years ago: September 17, 1939! The chapel at the Landmark was filled with Adrienne’s family, friends from Taunton, Holy Union Sisters from Massachusetts and Rhode Island, residents and staff of the Landmark. Adrienne chose the reading for the festive Eucharist (1Peter 1:3-9, Psalm 16, Matthew 19:13-15), concelebrated by all three of the priests who regularly offer Mass at the residence. Matthew’s Gospel brought all the children whom Adrienne taught over decades into the chapel and in the presence of this gathered community, representing different facets of Adrienne’s long and fruitful religious life, she renewed her vows to God. A lively reception followed and the celebration concluded with a luncheon including Adrienne’s family, including her cousin Sister Laurette as well as Sister Bernadette, and the Province Leadership Team. It was a day to remember!
